Cucumber is known as one of the most beneficial food to our health. You may have been eating in your meals every day. In previous blog, I already shared you with homemade cucumber face mask. Today, I’m going to write about the health benefits of cucumber.
So what are health benefits of cucumber?
First of all, cucumber contains a lot of nutrients that are beneficial to the health. It is good resource to supply water to the body. Water content is up to 90% of cucumber. Additionally, it has many vitamins and minerals like fiber, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, calcium, iron, etc. Therefore, eating cucumber every day helps to provide necessary nutrients (vitamin and mineral) to the body. The followings are health benefits of cucumber.
Nowadays, many people have faced with cancer problems due to various factors including living environment, food and other impacts. One of the effective and simple methods which may lower the risk of cancer is to eat and drink cucumber juice per day. Cucumber contains laricires inol, pinoresinol, and secoisolariciresinol – 3 lignans which have good effects on lowering the risk of cancer development including breast, uterus, prostate and ovarian cancers.
When you are uncomfortable and heavy on the stomach due to oily food, cucumber is a good choice. If your mouth is on fire (mouth sores), cucumber should be one of the fruits added to your serving for heat relief. Furthermore, you can cover cucumber on your skin to retain water and improve the skin.

Contrarily, you can drink pure juice in case of high blood pressure.
Thanks to its abundant content of water and fiber as well as the coolness, fresh cucumber helps to lower the risk of constipation, heartburn, flatulence, indigestion and stomachache considerably. Consumption of fresh cucumber within 2 – 3 days, the result will be shown obviously.
Mainly content in cucumber is water. Also, the rate of calorie is low. So eating cucumber will not gain you any weights. As mentioned above, cucumber is good for immune system. Therefore, cucumber can be used to take off your weight. You can serve it as salad or raw.
Cucumber may help to get a face lift and skin area under the eyes. When you are stressful at work or stay up late, dark circles and wrinkles appear round your eyes. Cover them with fresh cucumber slices to get a recovery and face lift.
